This month we are honored to welcome Attorney Mary Bonauto as our SPJ luncheon speaker. For 25 years, Mary has served as the Civil Rights Project Director of GLAD (GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders, formerly Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders). She was lead counsel in the 2003 Goodridge case that made Massachusetts the first state to adopt same-sex marriage. In 2015, she successfully argued the Obergefell case before the U.S. Supreme Court which established same-sex marriage across the country. 

While there has been enormous progress in the past decade, there is still work to be done in the area of marriage equality. Mary will speak about where we have come and where we need to go. Click here to read more about our speaker.
